The update was successfully applied, and initial testing indicates that the error message displayed to a small number of users in their Blackboard modules has been fixed. We’re going to be updating the Blackboard building block (the bit of software that lets Blackboard talk to Aston Replay) at 1100 on Thursday 17th. The service should be considered at risk between 1100 and 1200.

The server is accepting uploads again. If you’re waiting for a recording made in a teaching room, they’ll automatically get uploaded to the server the next time the computer is turned on.

There are some sessions from Thursday and Friday that are still waiting to process.

Blackboard is currently down. As Aston Replay uses Blackboard to authenticate users, you will be unable to log in to view your lectures until Blackboard is restored. If you’re still logged in, your lectures will still be available on replay.aston.ac.uk. Check vle.aston.ac.uk for more updates on the status of Blackboard.

We’re aware of issues where certain users are seeing an error message when trying to access recordings. We’re working with Panopto for a fix to this. If you’re seeing this message, please let replay@aston.ac.uk know along with the module you’re seeing it in.

We’re now running on the latest version of Panopto. If you’re interested in letting your students record, or any of the other new features, get in touch with replay@aston.ac.uk and we can walk you through it.

The server is accepting uploads again. Sessions recorded during the downtime will remain on the computers until they’re turned on, where they’ll upload in the background.
