Unable to subscribe to podcasts on macOS & iOS/iPadOS

On Apple devices, the links to Subscribe in Apple Podcasts or iTunes don’t work.

This is due to a change in how Apple devices handle links beginning with feed:.

Workaround

Subscribe using the RSS feeds instead: manually copy the link, open up the Podcasts app, and paste the URL.

macOS

1. In the Panopto folder view, click the RSS icon
2. Right click on the Subscribe to RSS link, then click Copy Link (or similar)
3. In the Podcasts app, click File then Add a Show by URL.
4. Paste the RSS link you copied in step 2. Either:
   • Right click in the box and clik on Paste
     or
   • Press ⌘ Command + V
5. You need to edit this link first, so move the text cursor up to the start of the link, and remove feed: from the link. Your screen should look like the screenshot, above.
6. Click Follow

iOS/iPadOS

A similar process to the above. You will need to long press on the Subscribe link to copy it, and you can add a show by url via the three dots in the top right corner of the Shows page.
