Adam MasseyOn 13 August 2021, older versions of the Panopto Recorder will no longer work.
After this date, you must be running version 9.0.2 or above to continue recording sessions.
Check what version you’re running
- Open the Panopto recorder
Click Settings
The version number is displayed in the bottom right of the window
- Open the Panopto recorder
Click Panopto in the menu bar
Click About
The version number is shown
How to get the latest version of the Recorder
- If your Aston PC is running Windows, connect to the VPN, open Software Centre, and install the latest version of Panopto. More information is available on Solve.
- If you are using an Aston Mac, and you don’t have admin rights to the machine, you will need to raise a call with Digital Services on Solve.
- If you are using Panopto on your own computer, you can install the latest version. If you’re on an older version after the 13th, it will prompt you to upgrade – follow the instructions.
